Hey there hentai fans,

How'd you like to play a game? We're hosting a scavanger hunt in the gallery for specific albums. Who ever finds it first wins, please post your findings here: (forum link). The scavanger hunt will run for at most two weeks, or will end whenever all the albums are found.

Prizes? Winner gets downloads enabled for the weekend. There can be 1 winner per album.

Now there are 8 albums so there will be 8 winners.

Here's the first round of hints of what to look for (written in dating service speak ofcourse):

The contest is over now as of 8/10/2009.

To the winners: This weekend starting Friday, and ending Monday morning, you'll be able to download any album you want in the gallery without exception.

I spent the early part of tonight installing and configuring a new database for lu.scio.us. More on that here.

The site is currently under high load all the time. As amazing as it sounds, over one hundred thousand people visit this site each day. During peak hours, we see spikes of 800-1000 requests in a single second. This site has grown tremendously since it was converted to the new gallery and reopened almost 1 and a half years ago.

Then I couldn't have imagined how much success we would have had: over 1.3 million pictures upload and nearly 20,000 individual albums. Yet out success is also the cause of our problems. Read more on that here.

For now, I am operating the site on emergency mode. I'll be active far more often than I usually am, monitoring the servers and stepping into shut things down when crises happens.

Uploading and Downloading are currently disabled. After tomorrow, uploading will be re-enabled. I'll review enabling downloads then as well. Most likely though downloads will be disabled because we're having problems with one of the image servers.

Search is gone for anonymous users. It may return but certainly not anytime soon as it was being abused by bots, and used in place of the tag selection on the right sidebar. There are some caveats which you'll be able to find out by reading the forum.

Through out the week I and the rest of the mod staff are going to be identifiying and deleting duplicate or banlisted albums. Fewer albums means a faster site. This should serve as a stop gap till we can have a major overhaul. If you would like to help, go to the open moderation thread on the forum.
